Did you know that thinner steel fibers have a terrific advantage in UHPC? The curve below shows why. The number of steel fibers per volume increases quadratically with a reduction in diameter. The increased fiber count reduces the average spacing between fibers and increases the material's toughness and strain hardening behavior.
Our surface modification technology builds on this numerical advantage, dramatically boosting the performance of each individual steel fiber through stronger bond behavior. With this in mind, our modifications are carefully engineered to ensure optimal UHPC behavior.
