The pullout test (see below) is used to determine the merits of a fiber. A single HiPer Type X steel fiber dissipates about three times as much pullout energy as three regular smooth fibers in this type of test. This is due to the unique, micron-sized surface patterns that optimize the interaction between the fiber and the surrounding UHPC matrix.
Type X fibers enable you to cost-effectively meet the stringent performance requirements in the new AASHTO specs for UHPC or use shorter fibers for 3D printing of UHPC to facilitate the printing process.
Type X fibers have substantially better performance and are cheaper than competing fibers.
