May 2023: During its annual meeting, the AASHTO Committee on Bridges and Structures approved the new UHPC Guide Specs. This historic vote opens the way to broader usage of UHPC technology and paves the way for a new era of ultra-durable and ultra-strong infrastructure.
A key provision in the new guidelines imposes performance requirements on UHPC's unique behavior in tension. In particular, it specifies a minimum tensile ductility (localization strain) and rewards the use of more ductile UHPC.
Unlike other fibers on the market, HiPer steel fibers explicitly address the new AASHTO requirements. Their striated surface optimizes the bond with UHPC to promote exceptional tensile UHPC performance - at a highly competitive price.
