Brightline Rail Project Florida
This innovative project utilized HiPer steel fibers to reinforce the UHPC joints between concrete panels in multiple bridge elements.
Brightline, a private rail service, celebrated a significant milestone with the completion of its extension to Orlando. The extension, which broke ground in June 2019, has generated more than 10,000 jobs and over $6.4 billion in economic impact for the state of Florida. Mayors from the cities along the route praised Brightline for its positive impact on their communities. Brightline is currently conducting high-speed train testing between West Palm Beach and Orlando, with plans to test up to 110 mph through Brevard County. The company has also completed its final rail and track cutover, integrating a new second track into the existing corridor.
The Orlando extension project includes various infrastructure improvements, such as the rehabilitation of bridges, construction of underpasses, and upgrades to 156 railroad crossings. The project also features a vehicle maintenance facility and tenant buildout of the Orlando station at Orlando International Airport.
